My “Budapest Stories” exhibition in Ivy Coffee-is extended until end of June!
The theme is Budapest, more of the Pest side of the Danube as I have more attachment to this bank. Especially the the quarter aka “Csikágó” as it was build with such a speed and such manners as Chicago in the beginning of the 20th century.
Prints are also available at Ivy Coffee.

And a teaser:
Lövölde square
Shooting square in English and “It’s alwasy cold there…” as András Kern singing.
There was actually a shooting facility for the citizens when it was still their duty to keep the peace and order in the city instead of the police. In 1740 Maria Theresa, ruler of the Habsburg monarchy ordered every male citizen to participate in shooting practice for a year. The square got it’s name in 1874 after the building serving this activity. The building itself was demolished in 1890 but it’s memory remained.
Also you will find one of the few remaining “Green Tram” public toilets that got it’s nickname after it’s characteristic tramlike shape.
