In the illustration course we could have a short insight into bookbinding, and also binded our first self-made sketchbooks. I made two at once, one is made of regular office paper, and for the other one I made a selection of all kind of paper I could find at home. Drawing paper, pastel, aquarell, marker paper, white, grey and yellow colours – it gave the side-face a very nice striped apparance.
The first drawing is always hard – what to draw that suits the “nice sketchbook” – but I took a deep breath and started. Sketchbooks are for sketching after all.
